We speak with long time activist and West Coast Hip Hop pioneer General Jeff Page also known as the ‘Mayor of Skid Row‘. We talk to him about life on LA’s Skid row which home to the largest homeless population in the Nation.. We find out how folks in that community are dealing with COVID 19.. Jeff talks about how many are being left behind with this new stimulus package..
We also talk to Jeff about the recent passing of Don “Campbellock” Campbell of the Lockers dance group. Don was another west coast Hip Hop pioneer whose signature dance style predates Kool Herc and the beginning of Hip Hop in New York City.
Jeff who was a member of Rodney 0 and Joe Cooley and later a bodyguard for DJ Quik, was instrumental in getting a intersection in LA’s Crenshaw neighborhood named after Don Campbell which took place last month.
