In an impactful demonstration today on Hard Knock Radio, we delve into the protests that unfolded at San Francisco International Airport’s International Terminal. Early this morning, several hundred activists converged around 7 am, effectively blocking two gates and disrupting the usual hustle of the terminal. The protestors, wielding large banners, voiced a unanimous call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, a plea echoing amidst the clamor of the busy airport.
The atmosphere outside the terminal was equally charged, where scores of health workers gathered, amplifying the protestors’ message through loudspeakers. These speakers shed light on the dire situation in Palestine, particularly focusing on the recent attacks by Israeli forces on medical workers and facilities. The poignant story of two ambulance drivers from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, who were killed while attempting to transport an injured child, underscored the speakers’ messages. They highlighted a grim statistic: over 350 medical workers have lost their lives since October 7th.
Despite the significant disruption, including the closure of main terminal entries and two gates โ which necessitated rerouting passengers โ the response from the public was overwhelmingly supportive. Many passengers expressed their solidarity with the protestors through chants, songs, nods of approval, and thumbs up, showcasing a community united in the call for peace and humanity.
