HKR-09-07-22: We speak with community activist David Roach about the upcoming Oakland International Film Festival, which will celebrate its 20th Year. We talk about not only the incredible lineup of films but also local and international politics and how they impact Black self-determination. We also note how those politics are addressed in some of the festival’s feature films. Later on, in the show, we hear a commentary from political prisoner Mumia Abu Jamal about the brilliance of James Baldwin.
