We spoke with Professor Tina B Wright of Southwest Community College in Los Angeles about her new book 360 Degrees A Blueprint to Black Self Determination… Here she breaks down a lot of strategies that should be undertaken by Black people in the path for liberation. Among the topics discussed is media literacy, Maroon societies, Coalition building, the role of Hip Hop and Culture in Liberation Movements and self defense.
The 360° Project is a community empowerment and organizing model that utilizes social network theory and analysis to promote strategies that advance community self-sustainability. Network Theory offers important insight into how interpersonal connections matter, and how knowledge in any and all groups grows, and it explains the effects of the gaps in both connection and communication.
